【Title】Numerical simulation of two-phase flow characteristics of control valve in AP1000 nuclear power steam turbine
【Abstract】The software FLUENT is used to make the numerical simulations for the two-phase flow in mid-pressure valve of AP1000 nuclear steam turbine. The two-phase flow and single phase flow fields are analyzed under control valve’s three openings of 90°,40°,10°. The pressure loss of the valve and the influence factors of pressure loss are also studied. Simulation results show that the maximum velocity of two-phase flow inside the valve is lower than the maximum velocity of single phase flow under the same opening. With the opening of the valve changing, pressure loss’s changing law of the two-phase flow is similar to the single phase flow, however, the pressure loss of the two-phase flow is nearly twice of the single phase flow. The size of water droplets in the steam has less effect on the pressure loss, but moisture content in the steam has a major impact on the pressure loss.
